What does the post-surgery recovery program at Medical Care include?
The recovery program includes a full circle of rehabilitation: physical treatment and rehabilitation with all the most advanced means, including individual physiotherapy and medication, together with group rehabilitative exercise, a healthy nutrition workshop and deep emotional therapy using the InHeal method. The multidisciplinary medical team provides comprehensive 24/7 care throughout the stay.

What does a typical day in the recovery department look like?
The department's activity schedule includes a physician visit and routine nurse check, individual physiotherapy (three times a week), group and individual rehabilitative exercise, a weekly healthy nutrition workshop, a rights counseling session with an expert lawyer, music activities and three meals a day. Visiting hours: 10:00-13:00 and 16:00-20:00.
Am I entitled to reimbursement for the recovery period?
Yes. The supplementary insurance plans of the various health funds offer post-surgery convalescence. For example, Clalit Mushlam members are entitled to recovery provided they have a recommendation letter and no more than two months have passed since discharge from hospital. Medical Care issues Form 17 directly through the Clalit website, and patients are accepted from all hospitals in Israel. To check eligibility: 03-5008899.
What are the rights of post-surgery patients under supplementary insurance?
The supplementary insurance plans of the health funds offer post-surgery convalescence. Eligibility depends on the type of surgery, the number of days in hospital, the type of supplementary insurance and the health fund. For example: Clalit Mushlam members are entitled to 6 recovery nights with a co-payment of only ₪100 per night (via Form 17), Maccabi members are entitled to half the number of hospitalization days and up to 21 nights with reimbursement from the fund, Meuhedet members are entitled to 7 nights with reimbursement of up to ₪526 per night, and Leumit Zahav members are entitled to up to 25 days with reimbursement of up to 80%. Which health funds does the Medical Care recovery department work with?
Medical Care works with all four health funds: Clalit (Mushlam plan), Maccabi (Sheli, Zahav and Kesef plans), Meuhedet (Adif and Si plans) and Leumit (Kesef and Zahav plans). Each fund and plan has different eligibility terms: number of nights, reimbursement ceiling and co-payment. Eligibility varies with the type of surgery and the number of days in hospital.
