Initial rehabilitation after any cardiac event
The department accepts patients from all hospitals in Israel after open-heart surgery, myocardial infarction, valve implantation or replacement, bypass surgery, catheterization, or pacemaker/defibrillator implantation.

A holistic multidisciplinary approach
Patients receive embracing care from a range of specialist physicians in a multidisciplinary intervention program aimed at promoting and restoring the patient's health and educating for a healthy lifestyle, combined with physical activity and guidance.

A personal app-based program
Each patient fills in a status questionnaire in a dedicated app and has an intake session with a certified psychotherapist. The app makes it possible to track the personal program, receive appointments, and get practice and enrichment materials.

Who is the post-cardiac event recovery department for?
The department is for patients who have undergone open-heart surgery, myocardial infarction, valve implantation or replacement, bypass surgery, catheterization, or pacemaker/defibrillator implantation. Patients come to the department from all hospitals in Israel.
What does the department's activity schedule look like?
The activity schedule includes a physician visit and routine nurse check, individual physiotherapy (three times a week), group and individual rehabilitative exercise, a weekly healthy nutrition workshop, a rights counseling session with an expert lawyer, music activities and three meals a day. Visiting hours: 10:00-13:00 and 16:00-20:00.
What are the rights of post-cardiac event patients according to the health funds?
The national health basket offers 5 days of rehabilitation with no co-payment. Beyond that, each health fund provides additional coverage: Maccabi offers 5 recovery days from the health basket and another 2 days under supplementary insurance (Sheli/Zahav/Kesef). Clalit offers 5 consecutive days plus 7 more days after heart surgery or infarction, and 14 days after a heart transplant (Zahav and Platinum). Meuhedet offers 5 days from the health basket, another 2 days under Adif and 5 more days under Si. To check eligibility: 03-5008899.
Which health funds does the department work with?
Admission to the recovery department is open, subject to availability, to patients of all health funds with which arrangements exist: Clalit, Maccabi, Meuhedet and Leumit. Eligibility for benefits varies according to the health fund, the type of insurance, the patient's medical condition and seniority in the plan. Which integrative treatments are available in the department?
